Porridge with Caramelized Apples
Ingredients for one portion:
- 30g rolled oats
- 125ml water
- 125ml milk
- 2tbsp butter
- 1 apple
- 1tsp cinnamon
- 2tbsp honey
Pour the water and milk into a saucepan and add rolled oats. Bring to boil and then simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat.
In the meanwhile, cook the apples while the porridge is simmering in another pan.
Place the apple cubes in a shallow pan with the butter, cook them over medium-low heat, stirring often, unteil the apples are softened, then add honey and cinnamon.
Pour the cooked porridge into a bowl and spoon caramelized apple cubes over it including whatever syrup is in the pan.
